Jan. 24-30

I had a great time at Secret Church with our students and families last night. I want to pass on a huge word of THANKS to Mickey and Marion Tims for opening their home to our youth, to Kimberly Stephens and Tim McWhirter for their teaching and challenge to our students, and to Matthew Carter for leading our worship! I know there are many more adults who came together to make this a successful event . . . thanks for your desire to help students grow in their faith! I hope all who participated left with a better idea of what Christians in hostile countries face for following Christ and that each student will pursue their goals for praying and reaching out to their friends by sharing the truth of Christ's love. Continue to join us on Sundays at 9:30 am as we study "Radical".

This Wednesday we will continue our series entitled "What We Believe/What They Believe" as we focus on the teaching of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Join us at 6:30 pm. I appreciate all of your help last week in organizing the food pantry after our study time . . . your 30 minutes of work made a remarkable difference!

The adult prayer group will continue to meet on Wednesdays in the conference room outside Pastor Doug's office at 6:30 pm. All parents are invited to participate.

Praise Band Practice will be this Sunday at 4:30 pm.

Ignite teams are currently on break, but we hope to begin drama, stix, and signs in early March. Details will be provided in February regarding Ignite! Youth Choir will not resume until the Fall.

Mark your calendars for our "Big Game" Football Fellowship on Feb. 6 at 6 pm. We will suspend Fuel on that evening and enjoy the game together in the FLC.

IMPACT Weekend Details - Keep March 18-20 open for IMPACT! I am currently working on a list of host homes for the event. I hope to have details out in early February!

STUDENT LIFE MISSION CAMP Registration! We will soon be registering students for mission camp this Summer. Mark your calendar for June 26-30 to join us on the campus of Lee University in Cleveland, TN for this great week of worship, fellowship, and service. I am excited to let you know that Matt Papa will be leading our worship and Wes Hamilton will be our camp pastor. Our mornings and evenings will be spent with other campers on the Lee campus and we will be doing mission work in the afternoons. Our camp cost will be $250 which is all inclusive (covers mission supplies, meals, t-shirts, etc.). More details will be coming soon!

Potential 10th grade - College Mission Trip to Costa Rica- we are still working out details to see if we will be able to organize a mission trip in mid-July to Costa Rica. I will keep you posted. If you are in 10th -12th grade or a parent/youth leader and this trip is of interest to you, then please drop me a quick email to help us determine the viability of this trip. We do not know the costs at this time, but due to air travel, we expect it to be over $500.
