The Weekly Post

Make plans to join us at the home of Mickey and Marion Tims (located just behind the church building) on Friday evening, Dec. 16 at 7 pm. It's going to be a "Tacky" Christmas as we will have a contest for the WORST Christmas attire. We hope you will participate in the dress code, but join us even if you choose not to do so . . . all voting will be done by your peers and a REAL prize will be given . . . not a fruit cake (I hate those). Youth and youth leaders are encouraged to participate. We will have a great night of fellowship. Please bring finger foods to this fellowship. This will be our last youth event of 2011 . . . Don't miss it!

We have extended our Winter Retreat Registration a few more days. If you wish to join us for this event, then please get in your form and registration fee asap. Here are the details:

This retreat is for all 6th-12th grade students . . . invite your friends! A $30 non-refundable deposit is due now and a $70 balance will be due at the end of December. The cost includes all food and retreat activities including the climbing wall, challenge course, zipline, and paintball (if weather permits). All activities are voluntary. Registration forms for "THE STAND" are available by clicking the image to the right. I am getting excited about what we have planned for this trip and I hope you can join us!

Camp Jabez is in Morganton, GA and details can be found about their retreat center at www.campjabez.com We will plan to depart for our retreat on Friday, Jan. 13 at approximately 7 pm and will return on Sunday, Jan. 15 at noon. The main teaching sessions for our retreat will be led by Jason and other adult volunteers from Mt. Zion.

Please see the sidebar for the weekly schedule of activities. Please take notice of the additions to the "looking ahead" section as we approach the busy month of December!

LOOKING AT 2012:

IMPACT Weekend- Tentatively Scheduled for March 16-18.

I realize this seems to be a long way from now, but I wanted you to go ahead and put our Summer Mission Trip on your calendar. We plan to go back to Student Life Mission Camp in 2012 at Lee University. The camp dates are July 3-7. I choose camp based on who is preaching and leading worship and I am excited to tell you that Tony Merida and Unhindered will be our leaders for mission camp this year. So, mark you summer calendar now and we will begin sign-ups in late winter/early spring. All the proceeds from our Talent Show will be used to offset the costs of Student Life this year. We have 30 spots available and registration will begin in early 2012.

I look forward to seeing you in Worship and Sunday School this weekend.
